In the new study published in the psychiatry journal “Frontiers Psychiatry”, more than 1000 people between the ages of 18-30 were examined using smartphones.
In the study, which concluded that 40 percent of people who were asked 10 questions to determine smartphone addiction were dependent on their phones, it was stated that the use of phones until late hours was also largely associated with addiction.
According to the research, which has been determined that people who use their phones for a long time have low sleep quality, the use of smartphones until late at night causes difficulty in falling asleep, decreased sleep time and daytime fatigue.
Experts suggested that the phone screens should be switched to grayscale and this will make the phone less interesting.
Stating that there should not be devices such as laptops and mobile phones in the bed or bedroom before going to sleep, experts warned that the light from any electronic device may affect the level of melatonin, known as the sleep hormone.
