In Thailand, which is less affected by the Covid-19 outbreak compared to other Southeast Asian countries, a green light has been given to a vaccine. The Thai Food and Drug Administration has approved the emergency use of the Covid-19 vaccine produced by the US biotech company Moderna.
While FDA General Secretary Paisan Dankhu said that the use permit is valid for 1 year, with the latest development, the number of vaccine producers approved for use in the country has increased to 4.
STARTED IN FEBRUARY
The Thai government announced that 200,000 doses of Sinovac and 117,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine were delivered to the country in February, and the vaccination program, covering people between the ages of 18-59, started with Sinovac vaccines on February 28. Firstly, it was stated that front line healthcare workers and volunteers would benefit from the vaccine, and it was publicized that AstraZeneca vaccines would be used for the population aged 60 and over.
