Famous magazine announced: A single dose of Biontech vaccine provides protection close to two doses, the second dose may be delayed – Health News

In a study by two Canadian scientists published in the New England Journal of Medicine, one of the world’s most important scientific journals, it was announced that the second dose of Biontech – Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine could be delayed.

‘ONE DOSE GIVES 92.6 PERCENT PROTECTION’

In the study, which stated that the second dose of the Biontech Covid-19 vaccine, which was applied within 21 days in the procedure, could be made in the desired time, it was stated that the first dose of the vaccine provided 92.6 percent protection when the data contained in the documents submitted to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) were analyzed.

The results of the study conducted by Danuta Skowronski of the British Columbia Center for Disease Control and Gaston De Serres of the Quebec National Center for Public Health could be a beacon of hope for countries experiencing difficulties with vaccine supply.

‘APPLICATION IN A MONTH PROVIDES VERY LITTLE BENEFIT’

In the study, which was stated that one dose provided a protection close to two doses in terms of the percentage of protection, it was stated that the administration of the second dose within a month provided ‘very little’ benefit.

Making a statement on the subject, Biontech – Pfizer side said that the alternative dose regimens of the vaccine have not yet been evaluated and the decision remains with the health authorities.

ENGLAND APPLIES IN 12 WEEKS INTERVAL

Previously, the UK stated that the Biontech Covid-19 vaccine will be administered 12 weeks apart, based on the data provided by the vaccine companies, and the Biontech – Pfizer side announced that they did not have data to prove this.

Biontech – Pfizer stated that the vaccine was administered every 21 days in the data provided.
