Google and Harvard University create the most detailed map of the human brain

The cerebral cortex, often referred to as ‘gray matter’, makes up the largest part of the mammalian brain and contains up to six layers of nerve cells. Gray matter is responsible for many higher-order functions such as thinking, planning, perception, language, memory and voluntary movement.

On the other hand, it was stated that those who want to view the map can visit Neuroglancer, an open source online 3D visualization interface. Neuroglancer’s visitors can view incoming and outgoing synapses by selecting specific cells based on their layer.
