Is the Sinovac vaccine effective against variants?

A study was conducted on how effective the Chinese Sinovac vaccine is against the Brazilian variant. The research revealed that the vaccine may not be ‘effective enough’ against the Brazilian variant. However, it was also pointed out that the vaccine could contribute to reducing the severity of the disease with different mechanisms other than antibodies in the immune system. Another study showed that the vaccine developed by the University of Oxford is effective against the variant in question.
