A statement came from the World Health Organization about the British vaccine AstraZeneca, whose use was suspended by many countries in Europe recently.
“The benefit of the AstraZeneca vaccine outweighs the risks, the vaccination must continue,” the WHO said.
“The WHO Global Vaccine Safety Advisory Committee is carefully evaluating the latest available safety data for the AstraZeneca vaccine. When this review is complete, WHO will immediately communicate the findings to the public,” said the World Health Organization’s statement.
The use of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine was suspended for precautionary purposes in some European countries such as France, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands on the grounds that it could cause blood clotting and deaths.
EUROPEAN PHARMACEUTICAL AGENCY HAS MADE A SIMILAR STATEMENT
Emer Cooke, President of the European Medicines Agency (EMA), announced at a press conference yesterday that the benefits of AstraZeneca’s Covid-19 vaccine, whose use was stopped in some European countries on the grounds that it causes blood clotting, is more than its risks and that they will continue scientific investigation.
BORİS JOHNSON ANNOUNCED THAT I WILL HAVE ASTRAZENECA VACCINE
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that Oxford-AstraZeneca, which some countries suspended its use for alleged blood clotting, will be the new type of corona virus (Covid-19) vaccine.
Johnson spoke at the Inquiries to the Prime Minister in the Preliminary House. During the session, Johnson was asked what some European Union (EU) countries did regarding the decision to suspend the use of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine.
Thanking the National Health Service (NHS) for their “wonderful” work in vaccination practice in the country, the Prime Minister stated that he received an invitation and that he will be vaccinated in a very short time and said “The vaccine I will be shot will definitely be Oxford-AstraZeneca.”
