New Covid-19 variant detected in Japan (396 people caught)

In Japan, 396 people were reported to have caught a new “never before seen” type of the new type of corona virus (Covid-19).

The National Institute of Epidemics (NIID) announced that 396 people were caught in a new Covid-19 variant, with the exception of species previously seen in England, South Africa and Brazil.

It was noted that the cases were detected in the Kanto region, where the capital Tokyo is located.

According to the NIID, there is concern that the variant, which has some similarities to the species in these countries, may increase the risk of re-transmission and reduce the effectiveness of existing Covid-19 vaccines.

Saito Tomoya, head of the NIID’s Emergency Response and Preparedness Center, said the new variant was expected to come from outside of Japan, but they did not have enough knowledge.

“We don’t think the new genre can be ‘mainstream’, but we will try to get situational information,” Tomoya said. said.
