Philips recalled around 3-4 million ventilators – Health News


According to the news of the Indiatoday newspaper, Philips announced that the devices in question were recalled on the grounds that the foams used for insulation of device sound may deteriorate, the gas produced by the deterioration of the foam may be toxic or cause cancer risk.

Stating that 80 percent of the 3-4 million recalled devices are CPAP and 20 percent are ventilators, Philips noted that more than half of the recalled devices are in the USA.

The company called on CPAP users to stop using the devices, and for those who use mechanical fans not to stop using the device or change their treatment regimen without talking to their doctor.
