Third Covid-19 vaccine registered in Russia

Russian Prime Minister Mihail Mishustin made statements about Covid-19 vaccine studies in his country at a meeting with officials via video conference.

Stating that they received “good news” in vaccine studies today, Mişustin said, “The Çumakov Center registered the vaccine called ‘CoviVac’ they developed against Covid-19 today,” he said.

Pointing out that the first 127 thousand doses of vaccine will be ready for civilian use in mid-March, Mişustin said, “Russia is the only country in the world where three vaccines have been developed to prevent Covid-19.”

The first Russian Covid-19 vaccine “Sputnik V” developed by the Gamaleya Research Institute in Russia was registered in August 2020, and the vaccine “EpiVacCorona” developed by the Vector Research Center was registered in October 2020.


According to the statement made by the Russian Coronavirus Infection Control and Prevention Center, 12 thousand 953 people were infected in the last 24 hours in the country, while the total number of cases increased to 4 million 151 thousand 984 people.

In the last 24 hours, the number of virus-related deaths increased by 480 to 82 thousand 876, and the number of those who recovered from the virus increased by 17 thousand 484 to 3 million 697 thousand 433.
